KS1 Phonics Workshop
30th September 2015
Thank you to all of the parents who attended the Phonics Phase 1 to 5 activity session and workshop on Wednesday 30th September.
It was great to see many of our parents attend and we hope that you gained valuable information about the Phonics programme that is taught at Hockley Primary School!
The workshop primarily focused on phases 1 to 5, and aimed to outline research underpinning Phonics teaching, stimulating and challenging ways in which Phonics is taught at Hockley Primary School, and practical ideas for home support. An engaging video depicting Mrs Smith teaching a phase 3 session was shared and parents also had the opportunity to watch Mrs Myall and Mrs Smith teach a live Phase 5 session, focusing on alternative pronunciations in the higher phases.
Further information can be found in the links to external sites on the presentation. However, if you have any questions about the teaching, assessment and required support of Phonics, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher for an appointment.
Many thanks again for your continued support,
Mrs Myall and Mrs Smith
